Mom's retreat...Invasion Successful!

Dad was home from work today and Mom was able to relax! Dad was doing such a good job keeping me entertained and letting Mom have some "me time," that I was starting to miss her and knew just where to find her...in the bath! In fact, I missed her so much, I just hopped into the tub with her, clothes and all! Needless to say, the bath wasn't quite the retreat she was hoping for but we all got some good laughs out of it.

I don't like to sit still.

Thanks for my bike Dad!

My new blocks!

My "Nonno" (Grandpa Turpin in Italian) made me, yes, made me my own blocks for Christmas! They are so cool, although Murph gets frightened everytime I pick one up. I wouldn't throw it at him!! Are you kidding?? They are so great, thanks Nonno!

More Christmas!

Christmas at the Turpins

Merry Christmas!

I was spoiled with presents under the tree. Santa brought me a "Ball Popper!" I am having so much fun playing with it, it plays music and shoots balls up into the air. I squeal when that happens. It came with 5 balls, we'll see how long it takes for me to lose them all!

My First Haircut

I got my first haircut today! Mom took me to Jenissa Beauty School and they treated us like royalty! We even got the haircut for free because it was my first. I wasn't so sure about the cape but we're happy with the results. On the way out, I heard all the ladies talking about "how cute I was." I think they should have called me "handsome" now that I am such a big boy!

Lunch With My Buddy James

James and I met with our parents at Jimmy John's for lunch today. Not the best place for kiddos like us, but we had a good time. Who knew "Salt and Vinegar" potato chips were so good?

Santa's Last Stop Before The Big Day

Despite my not feeling well, (I have had an awful cold for a week now, fever on and off, I'm not sleeping well so Mom and Dad aren't either...), Mom and I decided we needed to get out of the house! For what??? Santa was making one last stop at a local restaurant in Manor(!) before he had to get back to the North Pole to take care of last minute requests and wishes. They had paper to write him a letter and an "Express Letters to the North Pole" mailbox to put them in. Of course, I asked again for a flashlight and a disco ball!

ShadowGlen Neighbor Christmas

We are so lucky to be surrounded by great families. We all got together to celebrate Christmas tonight with great food and friends. Each child picked one name to buy for...Jack made Madison's night by giving her a "High School Musical" fleece blanket and Jayden made Jack's night by giving him 100 Mega Blocks! He loves them! Jack was a bit under the weather but couldn't help having a good time as he is the only male among 9 girls. What a great ratio for a little guy! (Plus, there's two more girls on the way! If you want a girl, come to Manor to drink the water)

Who needs toys?

Yummy dinner and great friends

We had friends over for dinner this week, we had yummy turkey and I was so impressed by how Brian got every last piece of meat off the bird. When I am a little older, he said he would teach me. The adults sure had a lot to talk about so I went to bed and left them to catch up. Dad liked my outfit so much, he dressed just like me.

My Baby Sister Update

Mom went for her 36 week appointment today, Dad and I slept in per her instructions! We called while she was there to let her know we were thinking of her. Mom was quite surprised to learn that things are moving around down there at rapid pace! Dr. Seeker still thinks this is going to be a 2009 baby but doubts Mom will make it to an important work meeting on the 7th. We'll see...Currently my sister is weighing 6 lb. 7 oz. Looks like she's going to be a lot bigger than I was!

EGG NOG music card

My Uncle Jim and Aunt Leanne sent a Christmas Card to us that screams "Egg Nog" and other things when you open it. Jack has certainly gotten their money's worth with this card...he loves it and thinks it is so funny. Thanks!

Trail of Lights 5K

Zilker Park in Austin had it's 23rd "Trail of Lights" 5K last night. Jack and I participated...he was in heaven with all the lights and even got to see Santa Claus again. At the 2-mile marker, there was an unclear sign pointing to a short-cut for those not up for the whole 5K challenge! Jack and I decided to take the long way after asking for clarification. Around mile 2 1/2, there were a bunch of people walking one way...I asked for clarification again from a volunteer who was rather hefty. He said, "Those are all the people that are done. You're too slow to be with them." Well Mister...I am having a baby in 4 weeks (What's your excuse???) and I decided to take the long way! When we got to the refreshement area...they were no longer calling it "Hot Chocolate," they were calling it "Warm Chocolate." At the finish line, they weren't even calling out names and the cones were already being picked up. I guess well have to pick up the pace next year!
