Thanks Aunt Jen and Uncle Kris!

Uncle Kris and Aunt Jen came over tonight to enjoy the pool and to help me out so that I could take Jack in the pool while they watched Kate. Jack had a great time messing around in the water, we got some great laughs out of him when Kris and I were tossing him back and forth in the water. Kate spent some time in the pool but really liked snuggling and cuddling with Aunt Jen. If you haven't met Sweet Kate yet, she is a CUDDLER and we are enjoying every minute of it!

A finale to Father's Day

After Dan worked a LOOONNNNGGG day, we had treats for him when he got home. Jack loved helping Dan pull beer out of his basket and showing Dan the painting he made, so cute! We had made a puzzle for him to complete which prompted him to "Look in the closet" when he solved it...inside was a smoker grill for him to smoke meat on. We're hoping for lots of great tasting meals!

Happy Father's Day!

And the letters get pulled out for the second year. Jack was not too interested in the letters this year...stickers were WAY MORE interesting. Check out last year's photo...so cute. Where does the time go?
Happy Father's Day Big D! We love you and thank you for all you do for us. We'll be eagerly awaiting your arrival home tonight so we can celebrate!

Never enough...

I have decided that I can never have enough cute little photos of our babies during their first year!

Father's Day Weekend

Ugh...Dan has to work all weekend so we'll celebrate here and there until the weekend is over! Thanks for working so hard to support your family D! We love you and appreciate all you do. Here's to you...

Jack's been busy...

Jack made Dan a Father's Day Boat and card at daycare this week...so cute! I think my favorite part is they wrote "Jack" under his boat so there was no chance of it getting mixed up with someone else's!

A million thanks!

A million thanks to "Nonna" (Dan's Mom) for staying with us for one hectic week and helping to hold down the Turpin fort! She was able to see first-hand how fun, messy, dirty, crazy, chaotic, loving, exhausting, exhilirating life can be with two under two. We appreciate every offer of helping in the kitchen, the house, walking the dogs, playing with the dogs, walking with the kids, babysitting while we get ice cream, on and on...It was so nice to have you here, come back soon!!!! Ciao Nonna!

Thanks to Leah, our daycare provider, for the great tutu she gave to Kate. We had a great time playing dress up!

5 months old!

Another month has gone by and Miss Kate is growing like a weed. She has taken a great interest in the world around here, has survived several "holdings" by her Big Brother, loves to eat and is always willing to give out a smile. She is rolling over all the time but gets pretty angry when she can't get back around! We love you Kate!

She swims, she rides and she runs.

Today I did my 5th Danskin Triathlon. They certainly don't get better with age unlike wine! I had a great time and was reminded of how wonderful and amazing our bodies are. 5 months ago I was pregnant and giving birth, today I was running, swimming and biking. Crazy.
P.S. I thought that Dan was going to have a harder morning than me with both kiddos...little did I know that Jack slept until 9:30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sibling Love

Another lazy Saturday morning at the Turpin house. People ask if Jack has been a good big brother...He has done remarkable! He will "give Kate love" when we ask and even if we don't. He leans his head into hers or gives her a kiss. In the morning, Kate is usually in her swing downstairs before Jack comes down. When he sees her as we come down the stairs he will say "Hi Kate! Hi Kate!" enthusiastically while waving. It is very cute. In the car he'll point at her and say "Baby Kate." It has been so fun to see the beginnings of their interactions together, I hope they become good friends!

Video that only a Grandparent would love!

There isn't much to this video if you've met Kate but for those who are far away...here's a little taste of what Miss Kate does all day! Bless her heart!

Guess who licked the bowl?

Chocolate!

Kate-a-Baga

Dan has affectionately been calling Kate "Kate-a-baga" because he says she "roots" when she is hungry. It went from "Root-a-baga" to "Rut-a-baga" to "Kate-a-baga." I think it's cute, just like her!

Don't turn your back for a second!

Jack has now figured out that he can pull his potty to the sink, stand on it to get a little more height and turn the water on. Fun! (For him...not Mom and Dad!)
