Are these people really my parents? Yikes!

McCormick and Schmick's AGAIN?

If you haven't checked out their happy hour, you need to go! Mom was in bliss when her $1.95 Creme Brulee came...it sure looked good. The waitstaff even knows me by now we have gone so much. Can't beat $1.95 Cheeseburgers and Fries! Even I know a bargain at my young age...

A day at the museum

Aunt Jen, Uncle Kris, Dad, Mom and I went to the Children's Museum today. It is free on Sunday's...who knew? I LOVED the kitchen gadget display and hitting all the pans/colanders/pots.

Is summer almost over?

It must be...I was one of a few kids at the pool today. I guess everyone is doing their homework while I get to play! It's fun to be one!

Cougar Country in Manor?

Well, this may be Texas but there is Washington State Cougar fever going on in this house! Dan is thrilled with teaching the little man about football and Jack is already practicing his referee skills. Touchdown! Go Cougs Go!

Go Obama!

Being that not many people can say a Presidential Hopeful has held them, Mom let me watch something besides "Baby Einstein." I didn't understand a lot of what he was saying but he's still got my support. Too bad I can't vote for 17 more years!

Is there anything more precious...

then a sleeping baby? I have often tried to capture the innnocence of Baby Jack on film as he sleeps in his crib, with his snuggies on surrounded by homemade blankets and a stuffed Grover and Elmo. The pictures just don't do it justice so this post is merely a writing. It is these times when Dan and I sneak into his room with just a tinge of the hall light casting enough shadow for us to see Jack's face that I feel so blessed to be a mother and to be sharing this experience with Dan and all our family and friends. Dan and I stare in awe at Jack, usually with his butt in the air and always on his stomach, and then smile at eachother in a school-girl/boy sort-of way...because of course, there are no words to describe those moments. So...a big thanks to Jack who for 365 plus nights has made my day by doing nothing else but looking so precious it is all I can do to not cry. Although our camera hasn't been able to capture it fully, my heart and memory certainly have!

Presidential Campaign

I thought after my front page debut in the Austin Statesman with Barack Obama, that he would choose me to be his running mate. Since we have recently learned that isn't going to happen, I have taken it upon myself to step it up a notch. Please see attached video and remember, every vote counts!

More Birthday Photos

Happy Birthday Hannah

We went to my girlfriend, Hannah's birthday party this weekend! She had a blow-up donkey and a pinata. Mom tried to help me hit the pinata but I was a little scared. I wore my birthday hat like a good little boy, I was the only one at the party who kept mine on! I had a good time playing with Hannah and her new toys.

Fun with the Hanleys!

Liz and Brian came over last night for dinner, drinks, the pool and a round of "Apples to Apples." I had to go to bed before the games came out but it was great seeing them and showing them my skills in the pool. I think they were impressed!

Milk SHAKE!

Wow...I have discovered that milk is way more fun when it is out of the cup than in. I was a mess the other morning but had a blast.

A Day In The Park

Mom, Aunt Jen and I rode the Zilker Zephyr at Zilker Park today. I had fun but my eyes got as big as saucers when we went in the dark tunnels. We went to McCormick and Schmick's where I dined on whole milk, goldfish crackers and applesauce. I really fit in with the crowd!

Toddler??? But you still look cute in onesies!

I spent a lot of Jack's b-day thinking about one year ago...going to the hospital, starting to cry as we checked in, Dan helping me to breathe, Jack being born and then quickly whisked away to the NICU...thinking we were in such a better place this year! At the end of the day, I received my weekly "baby" update via email that a website sends out, telling you what to expect of your baby as they develop. I cried as I sat at the computer because it was a short paragraph about how my baby is now a TODDLER? What??? How can my precious little one that is so stinkin' cute be considered a toddler already? It hit me, I finally REALLY understand why a wise wise man (my father) told me not too long ago, "You'll always be my baby." People can call Jack what they want but yes, "He will always be my baby" too! I am so fortunate to experience parenthood...

Birthday Fun at the Pool

If you're wondering why I have this silly looking hat on, it is because it says "I'm One!" on it with a happy whale. Oh Mom, when can you stop putting all this stuff on me to wear???

A tree grows in Manor

My Aunt Jen and Uncle Kris gave me a Hibiscus tree for my birthday. Mom and I dug a hole and planted it today. We picked a nice red colored mulch and decided to leave the bow on the tree. Thanks! We look forward to taking good care of it and watching it grow.

I miss Dad!

Dad's away for the week in Seattle/Whidbey Island at (do I dare say it???)his TWENTY year high school reunion! I sure do miss him but it gives Mom and I time to make our own little secrets!

Birthday Toys... Swing 'n Score!
