Clean Away Jack!

If only he could use it as it was intended...

Manor Fest

Yes, there really is a "Manor Fest" and we went to it! In the morning, Kate, Jack and I did the Manor Fest 5K. (Luckily I had the stroller to lean on, I was tired! In the picture it looks like I was the last one, I wasn't, but I was close. But I must say, I think there were only about 30 participants!) Later in the day, Aunt Jen came out and we went to the festival. Jack got to feed the animals and play on the moonwalk. I tried to get him to participate in the "Frito Eating Chip Contest" but he wasn't interested. Pickly little guy...if they had been brownies, he would have been all about it. Like Mother Like Son.

More La Jolla Cove...

La Jolla Cove, San Diego

While in San Diego, we had photographer Christopher Allison take our photos. Not an easy task with 2 under 2 but he managed to get a few good ones and we had a great time trying.
Thanks Chris! For any of my San Diego friends...check him out! It was only $50 and he sent a CD within a week. Leave it to me to find a bargain! http://christopherallisonphotography.blogspot.com

Kelly and Briana...

Thanks for a great day at the beach, it was so nice to see you both and to catch up! Briana...your Baby Luke is a doll!

Pacific Beach

Kate's First Trip to the Beach

Kate was a cutie-pa-tootie at the beach. Isn't that suit the cutest? I wanted to eat her up. Of course, I'm her mother! (Biased, I know!)

Trader Joe's (PLEASE come to Austin!)

Anyone who know me, knows I have an obsession with Trader Joe's. (I will be ecstatic when one comes to Austin!!!!) I saved my money for a big shopping spree while we were in San Diego. Of course I had to introduce Sweet Baby Kate to the joys of the store, she was so excited she couldn't help but fall asleep! $100 (GASP!) later, I was in bliss, walking out of the store with bags of yummy food which all made it back to Austin safe and sound. I also picked up the "Fearless Flyer" which Jack enjoyed reading! Smart cookie! :)

Balboa Park

Balboa Park has got to be the prettiest park in America. We were able to spend a few minutes there to walk around, take in the beauty and snap a few photos. What a gorgeous day!

Cookies on the beach and the San Diego Zoo

Thanks Allison and Aaron for treating us to the San Diego Zoo, I don't think it was the trip we all had planned (Jack ended up melting down, it coincided with naptime and Kate/Milo slept!) but we had fun together. In hindsight, maybe we should have just met for martini's instead!

Our visit to San Diego!

Wow...what a whirlwind trip we had. I will call it a "trip," not a "vacation" because it seemed that Dan and I needed to come back to work to relax. Kate was a wonderful traveler and Jack, well, he did the best he could! It was a challenge to get naps in while fighting off a runny nose the whole time. Jack crawls out of a pack 'n play so his bed was the floor. It worked great until he kept sliding under the bed and would lift his head and hit it. Poor kid. We stayed in a beach house in Ocean Beach (THANKS ALLISON AND AARON!), Dan and I decided we were way too old for the beach...we should have known there would be trouble when we saw a "Happy Birthday Todd" banner and a keg outside of the house next to us. Needless to say, the police were present that evening trying to shut the party down, I was so happy but it didn't work. At 12:30 that night, a parade of 150 people on stilts came down the road with 2 police cars following them. I yelled "Dan! Come here! There are people on stilts!" I think he thought I had lost my mind until he saw it too. Thank goodness the rest of our travels this summer don't involve a time change...Jack didn't quite adjust and our mornings started each day at 5:40. Ugh!
We had a wonderful time seeing all of our friends and eating at all the places we have missed for so long. I was so excited to take Kate to Trader Joe's, boy did we have fun in there! We met Baby Milo, which was our reason for coming to San Diego, Congrats Allison and Aaron, he is a cutie-pie. We also meet Breeonna, in the photos above, who is Kyle's fiance. (Kyle was the ring-leader in Dan and my meeting!) We had such a great time with you guys, thanks so much for making the 9 hour drive to meet up with the Texas Turpins, come visit us soon!!!! We miss you Bree-T!

Bath time is CUTE time!
