Round 2 of Sunday's at the Doctor

Just when you're in the home-stretch of being better, being done with antibiotics and being able to return to daycare, FEVER strikes again. Jack had a fever of 102.2 today which caused alarm with the doctor because he is on antibiotics. Just like two weeks ago, we loaded up and went to the doctors office (fortunately not the ER...this Dr. is great! He realizes that people get sick on the weekends too, thanks Dr. Caldwell!) Jack no longer had a fever when we got there but the doctor believes the antibiotics he were given didn't do the trick. He had some puss in his incision and an infection starting. There are two antibiotics that can be prescribed for what Jack had/has so as Dr. Caldwell said, "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what to give him now." So...we returned home with the other antibiotic and cream that we have to rub in his incision and put up his nose. Yes, up his nose. You can imagine how well that goes over w/an 8-month old. Poor little bubba, just when we think this debacle is over! His fever went up again and we had to call the nurse. She said not to worry until it was 105! What? 105??? Oh well, I certainly am not the one that went to nursing school so I'll take her direction.
Tonight I actually cried, I felt so bad poking, proding, rubbing, taping, cleaning out his incision et cetera. Jack was crying, I was crying and Murphy just stared at us.
Send Jack good thoughts!

I got a little teary just reading your entry. Can't the cutest little Texan get a break?! Hang in there, Mommy. Get Dr. Daddy out of retirement. We've got our fingers crossed for a speedy recovery for good. You're doing a great job for little Jack and despite the crying, you know he appreciates it!

Just when Dr. Dan retires, the mean infection returns! Poor little love. We hope that this clears fast and that the drops go down smooth.
