We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful facility and medical staff treating our little bubba. I think it is really starting to wear on our hearts though as many of the procedures they have to do on a daily basis cause Jack to be in much pain. We thought that maybe he could handle everything now with just tylenol with codeine but we may have to wait a little longer for that and continue giving him morphine before dressing changes, et cetera. We definitely weigh on every word the nurses say when they are in the room and have noticed that bedside manner/comments of the nurses, reactions to his "wound" have a direct effect on our outlook and how we are coping. The doctor will be in again this morning and hopefully she will continue to say he is progressing well. The area is still very firm and the incision is so deep. Dan and I have spent every night together on the hospital pull-out bed which we are getting so used to, it is actually starting to be comfortable (I use that word very lightly!). I have returned to work for 1/2 days and Dan has been with Jack 100% of the time.
Thank you again to everyone for your visits, calls, emails, thoughts and prayers!

Oh honey. You guys hang in there. You will get through this and before you know it-it will all be behind you. Stay strong and keep us posted. We are thinking of you.
All week you guys have been in my thoughts. Sounds like you have great care. Hope he gets better soon! -Rachel H.
