Is there anything more precious...

then a sleeping baby? I have often tried to capture the innnocence of Baby Jack on film as he sleeps in his crib, with his snuggies on surrounded by homemade blankets and a stuffed Grover and Elmo. The pictures just don't do it justice so this post is merely a writing. It is these times when Dan and I sneak into his room with just a tinge of the hall light casting enough shadow for us to see Jack's face that I feel so blessed to be a mother and to be sharing this experience with Dan and all our family and friends. Dan and I stare in awe at Jack, usually with his butt in the air and always on his stomach, and then smile at eachother in a school-girl/boy sort-of way...because of course, there are no words to describe those moments. So...a big thanks to Jack who for 365 plus nights has made my day by doing nothing else but looking so precious it is all I can do to not cry. Although our camera hasn't been able to capture it fully, my heart and memory certainly have!

Amen, girl!!! David and I understand completely - as we do the exact same thing every night.

Krissy, Thanks for taking me back in time. Even after 27 years I can remember how my heart felt while watching my children sleep.

Such a sentimental post and I agree with every word of it! I think the joy comes from the fact that I'm not, at that time, worrying about what their getting in to or what there next meal will be. I can just 'reflect' on the fact that they're beautiful and their mine! Jack is so lucky to be yours!
