A million thanks to all who have reached out, called, stopped by, dropped food off, hugged us, hugged their kids a bit more, emailed, read our blog, attended our celebration...the list goes on and on. As each day goes by, the nights are not so dark and we learn that the sun does rise. We are overwhelmed (in a great way) by the love and support of everyone and thank you for carrying our burden at this time.
We are still waiting to hear more from the Medical Examiner as we wait for additional testing to return from the CDC.
If you were unable to attend the celebration, it was absolutely beautiful. Dan and I commented to each other during it saying "This is just perfect." Pastor Brian Devany, we owe you a million thanks for capturing the exact spirit, energy, and love that we wanted for the celebration. This was no easy task and you did it with grace and love. The service was held at a beautiful glass and wood building in a park overlooking a pond with a wide open sky beyond. There were clouds scattered among a blue sky. We didn't know what to expect in terms of attendance and were shocked at the amount of people...we should have known because of Jack there would be "standing room only." Thank you so much everyone and we hope you enjoyed the cupcakes!

I wish I could have been there Monday- it sounds like it was the perfect memorial for a wonderful boy. Our memories of him will always be just as beautiful. I'm thinking of you and am so glad to hear how much support you have- not that I'm surprised since you, Dan and Kate are so loved wherever you go- just like Jack! We love you, Allison & Aaron
We have never met, but as a fellow mom to a little boy I love my heart is with you entirely. I am awed by your strength in the midst of tragedy and know that there are no words for what you are going through. There is only how sorry I am, we all are, for your loss. And how lucky Jack was to have had you for a mom. What a blessing. Your family continues to be in my prayers.

You are amazing people...Jack was honored in such a beautiful and unique way. You and your families showed such courage and composure. The memories expressed painted such a picture for those of us who had experienced but a glimpse of this great young man. In two short years he clearly made quite an impression on this world and all of those he touched...of all ages. i heard the setting was beautiful as were the memories shared about jack. i am so sad i missed it. i wish africa wasn't so far. i am glad that you have people to support you in this difficult time. we love you and are praying for you!
Krissy, Dan and Kate...We cannot express how sad we are to hear about your sweet Jack. Reading through your blog, it is tangible how much you love your boy and how much joy he has given you.
